A kingdom gone grumpy

The best show in the meadow

Every afternoon Garry parks his purple van in Dewdrop Meadow and blows bubbles the size of houses. The Glibs, the little pink townsfolk of the valley, think it's the best thing ever.

Somebody's not having fun

Over the hill, the Troll watches. Nobody has ever blown him a bubble. So he takes a big breath and blows a cloud of pure grumble down the valley.

The Grumble cloud

The cloud rolls through town. One by one the Glibs scrunch up their faces and turn into cross little Grumbles. Even the bosses of every island catch it.

Garry is the only one left smiling. Lucky for everyone, there's one thing that cures a grump: trap it in a bubble, give it a pop, and the grumble floats right off.

Into the van

He packs the soap, gasses up the van and heads for the Workshop. Seven islands, sixteen grumpy guardians, one Troll on the moon. How it ends is up to you.

Garry

Flat cap, pink jacket, a beard you could lose a sandwich in, and a wand that does a lot more than it looks like. He runs, he floats, he dashes, and he blows bubbles at everything.

  • BlowTap for a shot that traps enemies. Hold for a big bubble you can ride.
  • BounceHop off bubbles. Chain them without landing and each bounce goes higher.
  • DashEight directions, one in the air, refreshed on walls and bounces.
  • FloatPress Jump again while falling and drift down like a soap bubble.
  • Pound & slideSlam down from the air, or slide into a long jump.
  • Bubble surfDash while standing on a big bubble and ride it across the gap.

Where the van goes

Every island has its own stages, a hidden Bubble Lab, a van course and a wall of runaway suds to outrun.

Island 1

Dewdrop Meadow

Clover creeks, sinking lily pads and the very first Glibs to free. Keep hopping.

Island 2

Bubblefunalia Workshop

Thrift-store rooftops full of roller belts, racquets and forgotten treasures.

Island 3

Cloudy Seattle

Cool, calm and cloudy. Gusts push you around and a soap spill rolls down Pike Street.

Island 4

The Show Circle

Every Glib you've freed comes out to watch. The Grand Glib is waiting in the ring.

Island 5

Moon of UBOP-SHABAM

Gentle gravity, colour-changing bridges, and the Troll's bubble at the very end.

Ten guardian arenas under one tent: bell bridges, lantern rooms, a hall of mirrors.

The Sky Workshop

Bubble ladders, steam pistons and a clocktower above the clouds. The Foreman's on top.
